The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition faithfully re-imagines the internationally-acclaimed classic game (originally released in 1990) for old and new audiences alike. The game’s twisty plot leads hero, Guybrush Threepwood, on a hilarious quest throughout the fabled Monkey Island. Tales of pirate wealth attract Guybrush, who lands at the port of Mêlée with high hopes, no money and an insatiable desire to become a pirate. If the player is clever enough, Guybrush will win the confidence of Mêlée’s established pirates and soon find himself blown by the winds of fate toward Monkey Island — a storied isle whose name alone chills the bones of even the most bloodthirsty buccaneers.

iPhone GPS routing roundup turn by turn applications for the iPhone

August 17th, 2009 gregh 1 comment

The past week has seen two big releases on the iPhone GPS routing front.

First out of the blocks was CoPilot Live on the USA App store [get it here] and the UK App Store [get it here] bringing CoPilot’s full-featured navigation experience to the iPhone. Starting at £25.99 and available to download directly to the phone, it includes UK and Ireland maps with 7 digit UK postcodes (unlike some other iPhone navigation products we won’t mention). As with all CoPilot products, maps are stored on the phone not downloaded each trip. There’s no need for extra hardware or monthly fees – just start CoPilot on your iPhone, enter a destination and go there.
